Here is a List of LPS Corals- low light non-photosynthetic

I have recently started my nanoreef, and was in search of low light corals. Here is a list I have been able to generate so far. Hopefully this will help others out, as well as myself. This list was generated from seacrop.com. If anyone has any to add to the list, please do so, or correct me if I was wrong. Thanks and good luck.

I did some further research into the lps. the only thing I have found thus far is that they are non-photosynthetic. Meaning that they donot require photosynthesis to survive. But they will greatly appreciate it and flourish alot better! Also to add to that, some of them do poorly with alot of light , as they prefer to live in the shadows or in caves. My best advice is to research each individual one you have a desired interest in.

While I personally agree with Guy that most of the LPS listed require more than "low light" I decided to look up a frogspawn's light requirements. The following statement is taken from Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman regarding E. divisa (frogspawn) : "They prefer somewhat turbid locations in nature and will thrive with bright lindirect light and a gentile current".

My experience with this coral and other LPS corals such as pineapple brain, maze brain, candycane, open brains etc. is similar. I would say that many of the LPS corals need what I would consider to be "medium lighting" which I would define as 5 to 8 watts per gallon. As usual this definition is greatly influenced by water depth. I would not suggest putting these corals at the bottom of a 30" tall tank with PC lighting. If you have a deep tank with PC lighting I would suggest putting these corals near the top of the tank. JMHO
