Hey folks,

I have been setting up a 135g planted tank for the past two months. It is looking quite beautiful. Fish include Angels, gouramis (young specimens), along with tetras: 25 gold tetras, 8 pristella tetras, 8 marble hatchetfish, 8 penguin tetras, glowlites, and kooky ottocinclus. The problem is that these fish seem to be having a wild time. Swimming about, non-stop, all over. They seem to be on some sort of drug. Is this a sign of a happy young fish? Most planted tanks I see are tranquil, with tetras sort of hanging about. As the plants mature and my fish age, will they chill out a bit? I am hoping for a tranquil environment. Right now it seems like a school play ground, lol. Thanks, bodhi:)

Has the tank fully cycled?

Have you test kits for ammonia, nitrite, and pH?

The more information you post regarding your water parameters the more likely you are to find an answer.

Yea, what are your waters parameters and what is the temperature of the tank?

The temp could be a good indicator. Fish are more active in warmer water.
