Does anyone have a suggestions on what to do with an eclipse explorer? I think it's 2.5 gallons (at the most, maybe smaller). This thing is so small it doesn't even have a light. Maybe guppies? Snails? Sea Monkeys?

Thank you in advance.

Perfect for a betta with some nice silk plants. Just put a desk lamp nearby for viewing pleasure.

That's a great idea! What about live plants with a betta?

Normally plants need lots of light. But if you could get some low light then java fern (normally easy to get) is a great choice.

If you want to grow plants in your 2.5g tank and need a light you might want to try using the Bookworm Light. Here is a link (http://www.paperdirect.com/PaperDirect_PF401/productDetail.asp?superprodid=4339) to what it is if you don't already know. This particular site says that its not carrying them anymore but if you search for it in google other sites should come up that have it. Just look around and you shouldn't have a problem.

Anyways, I read in the aquabotanic forums of a guy that uses one for his 2.5 gallon tank and it seems to work good for him. At 13watts you will definitely have no shortage of light in your little tank! Good luck!

You should look into some of Takashi Amano's small tanks. ( If you don't know, he's a "famous" aquarium designer....and his books are very common. Look in your aquarium section at most any bookstore. "Nature Aquarium" is one title. )

Some of my ideas would be a betta....minnows....shrimp ( rock shrimp, singapore shrimp, algae shrimp, brine shrimp )...bumblebee gobies....clown gobies...

( The last two are brackish, by the way. )

My betta lives with abig rams horn snail. The rams horn doesn't do much but look for food and help keep things clean. But becuase I feed the betta just small amounts of food there hasn't been any snail bredding issues after 3 months. The 2 get along well and the snail doesn't add too much to the bio load.

But shrimp would be cool as well.
