what is the smallest fish you can safely put with full size rams. another way to put that is how big is their mouths?
my wife just got what we thought was a pair but the small one might be a female as well. they were almost to little to tell

Are you looking for additional Cichlids or just any fish?

U can put almost any small fish with rams like neons...
Their mouths are small...the only small fish u have to be wary of is fry...but that goes with any other fish as well... :D

You will have no problems with Rams eating neons or cardinals. As stated above, their mouths are small - even full grown daphnia are hard to swallow for them. Though they do eat a lot - up to 100 times their own body weight in one year.

what is daphnia and how big does it get?
I am guessing that even ember tetras at one inch would be bigger than those

Daphnia are often used as live foods for fish. I guess you could say they are a type of crustacean that just happen to like to jump up and down a lot before a fish eats them!

thanks for the link. I am doing the fishtanks on a shoestring budget and don't have the resorces to feed the fish all the live food they want so I am unfamiliar with all that
