Ok...I need to know how to get rid of gill flukes. In my 20 all the fish started swimming at the top of the tank...then just floated in the corner, occasionally swimming down to a rock to rub against...then they died. I know it was gill flukes. I tried treating the tank with a copper sulfate (i think), then melachite green (sp?). These were treatments "said" to work. It didn't. How do you treat this? and if I leave the tank empty will it go away because it has no host, or will it still be in the tank. It's been a PROBLEM.

Thanx.

I have had to deal with gill flukes in marine fish. Fresh water dip worked great on my Maroon Clown. I have heard that a saltwater dip is just as effective on freshwater fish. I believe it was RTR that recommended it....sorry RTR if I'm wrong here:)

In my case I left him in the dip until it looked like he was really struggling. Its been a while, but I think it was between 3 and 5 minutes. Good Luck.
