i was reading up on halfbeak livebeares and the magazine i was looking at said they were a freshwater species however when i went to my LFS they didnt have any in stock but said they should only be kept in brackish water. now im very confused. can someone come clear this up for me??
What species are you talking about? I think there are plenty of species that exist.

Both species I linked you into can be kept in hard alkaline or brackish waters although the latter is much more preferable. And has your LFS stock them before?
