My sword has 4 runners coming out 2 are nice and green. While the other 2 one is half black and the other just about half an inch from the end is black. Are they dead? or will they turn green.

on further inspection i would say there more dark brown or brown not black

Maybe it's a type of algae? I've found the baby growth seems to be most susceptible. I just dealt with my swords runners last night and they were all black with black bearded algae. The plantlets were fine, but the actual stems were all black. Do you have any other signs of algae? If it's NOT that, well, they should be green.

no algae problems

Heres a picture of the dark runner. You can see the green runner behind it with the new swords growing on it. But nothings going on with the front one. Im thinking its dead in the dark spots.
