I have posted a message on the "newbie" site, but thought I'd try this one out, too. I have to admit that I'm rather confused by all the fish lingo and am hoping that there is some wonderful website out there with all the info regarding goldfish. We have two right now--living in a little one gallon tank. I now know this is BAD and we are going to fix the living situation pronto. The first goldfish was the take home gift at a child's bday party...I'd like to curse the parents who thought this would be cute! Anyway, the second one we got today to keep the other happy.

I'm specifically looking for info on tanks and all that they encompass. I've had to change the water in this one three times (once a week) and just found out that the thing I thought was a filter really is just some stone thing for the air. See, I'm clueless....

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have all become quite attached to Nemo and Pearl.

Try this link (http://users.megapathdsl.net/~solo/puregold/care/care.htm).

Goldfish are very cool fish just brimming with personality but they need room and excellent filtration to prosper.
The site I listed will telll you everything you need to know.

Good luck!!

I just wanted to thank those of you who gave me links to goldfish websites...they have really helped us in making decisions on what we need to keep little Nemo and Pearl happy (the seven year old named the fish). We're actually off to the pet store now to purchase them a larger home! I think our current one gallon tank will be a nice home to a future Beta...but I'll have to research them a bit before diving in:)

Goldfish Girl,
What size is your tank?

This will help us a bit...

Also, we need to know how long ago you had the other goldies and where your cycle is...

Don't worry, we can help you if you need it with any aquarium stuff...including describing the cycle if such term is unfamiliar!

Puregold is IMO the best goldfish site. There is also a newsgroup, by email, with many breeders and serious goldfish keepers (the $400.00 goldfish sort of goldfish keepers) as well as novices.
