Hi I've been reading a few other posts and many mention the use of a spray tube with planted aquariums. I wasn't able to understand the benefit that this has. I currently have a fluval 304 canister filter with the original output nozzle. Should I get a spray tube instead?

Thanks

The spray bar returns from canister filters are normally place below the water surface in planted tanks, to difuse the curent more evenly over a broad area and to avoid excessive surface breaks at the water surface. The placement and flow direction of the output - thus the current in the tank - are controlable by the hobbyist.
