Only new to keeping africans...Anyone give me some good links to learn about africans, sexing and behaviour mostly. I only know a few. mostly a South American man myself. Just trying to learn as much as possible about every cichlid possible. Even the thickskin! sp.41!

I'm am also unsure of a mbuna or perhaps an african (more genrally) by the name of smilis or there abouts...(could be common or scientific) any ideas?
Aswell as red emporess? could this be one of the red type zebra's?

dont have personal experience with this fish, but I do wth other Taganyikan shellies. They all require shells. I provde at least 2 per fish. They also prefer sand substrate, but its not mandatory. Most are very terratorial, but their terratories are very small. Most can and will standup to much larger tankmates. I avoid housing Synodontis in my Tang. tanks containing shellies. I dont think they would do damge to one another, but they do inhabit the same level in the tank.
