Now that I've moved my 2" dempsey into the larger tank, I have an available 20gal tank with some giant danios... what cichlids should I try? I'd almost be interested in breeding some dwarfs or something like that. Unfortunately the LFS around here don't have a good selection of cichlids to choose from. The do have some bolivian rams... should I buy a few and see if I get a pair? Would 2 pair be pushing it for this size tank? My water specs are: PH ~7.5 and gk/kh are very low (less than 5 or 6 degrees for either).

I've had bolivians for a while now, and they've done well in my water. It has a pH of 8, and the KH is around 20, while my GH is next to nothing...(water softener) Really nice fish, in my experience very hardy, although less flashy then German Rams. As far as bioload goes, Bolivians only get to about 4" so two pair wouldn't be too much in that respect for your tank, however, mine haven't bred, and I don't know if they'd get very aggressive during breeding, or not.
Hope that helps...;)

Cool, on another forum someone said to give A. Sajica a try...and I think I might :) If not, I always can get the bolivian rams at most LFSs. I have a souped up penguin 330 knock off filter...no biowheel...but I've added 2 airstones underneath some of the fluval biomax media in the media areas...so I'd imagine the tank can take pretty much any bioload I throw at it.
