I feel like a newbie again....

I've ordered a 20G High (All-Glass) from work, and the reason I ordered was that I thought it would be 24 Inches long, (meaning ,a 24 inch hood would fit on it.) Now it is looking as if it isn't.

I went onto All-Glass.com, and the measurments for the 20G High are "20x10x24" what does this mean?

I thought these were the listed dimensions?
24” (in Width), 12” (in depth), and 16” (in height.)

Anyways Width, depth then height, that should be it.

20 High 24 1/4 x 12 1/2 x 16 3/4

You looked at the wrong section. Go to:
http://all-glass.com/services/index.html

You'll find the EXACT measurements.

I have a metal stand given to me as a present, made by an "artist" - but the stand is off by 1/4" (too narrow!).

Thanks, I feel a lot better now...

Delmore, did you get one of those metal stands with the little circles on the ends? Thats such a bad description....did you special order it from the LFS though? That's how I go tmy "artist" stand.

Here's a picture:

The stand is a one of a kind, and it cost $300! I didn't want it, and for that much I could have gotten a nice 55g set up with the works (I get my stuff from Big als)!

The artist obviously never visited the all-glass service section of the page, since the size if off by a 1/4". I have a 20 long on it because the stand is too tall and unstable for a 36" tank, plywood because the stand is too narrow.

No I didn't, I said that both the 20 and 20h were 24" so, you could have used the hood on either.
