Hello,
Im Wondering what this "white" algea like substance is growing on my tank glass. I can easily scrape it off with one of my nets, or some other item. Is this a sign of bad water conditions? i dont currently have a testing kit. I am planning to buy one soon.:o

I have the same thing on my tank, I don't think it is a bad sign simply because I've tested and everything has been fine, including very healthy, active fish. I actually think it's white because it's just a very fine layer of green algae, if I don't take care of it often, it turns green.

White algae looking material is often fungus.
good luck
:)
It's normal and I use a brush to scrub it the day before I do a water change/gravel clean.

Does anyone have a picture or a better description? I think I may have just spotted the same thing in my tank.

I'm guessing it's also a thin layer of algae.. It's 'normal'..
