Hi all i am new to live plants but like the look they give off, however i am curious about how to keep them healthy. i've heard lots about c02 but know nothing about it. What is c02 and what is the benefits of having, i saw a package kit for 30 bucks is this about the correct price? How will i use it ? I have a 20g tank no amonia or nitrite, my plants are a variety of green and white acorus, rotalia, small amazon chain swords, some other misc plant i'm not sure what it is. The rotalia is growing great but the other plansts look so-so. Also shoul i put some sort of plant light in my tank, currently i only have what came with the tank, all help is great!!! thank you guys!!!

I don't have the time to go into explanations about all your questions, I'm sure someone else will come along. But, in case no one mentions it, the Acorus isn't really an aquatic plant and it will never grow much. Before you buy a plant, you should check if they're real aquatic plants. If they look like houseplants, they're probably not aquatic. One exception is Anubias, and they're pretty expensive. Try to become familiar with the common aquatic plants, instead of just buying whatever;s in the store. Some plants need very specific conditions and are hard to grow, so you shouldn't spend your money on them unless you're going to be able to keep them alive. Your other plants sound good. The Amazon swords aren't particularly fast growers, but they're tough enough in general. Anyway, I'll let someone else fill you in on the rest. Good luck :)
