Hi all

during the recent hot weather i have been keeping the lid open on my tank to let a bit of air circulate. there is still a plastic cover over the water under the lid.

the other night i looked into the tank and noticed one of my puffers eating a moth that had found its way onto the water surface.

is there any danger in this? the puffer certainly seemed to enjoy its new found fast food, but i wasn't sure if there was any risk of disease or parasites from the moth?

thanks in advance for any advice.

Ade

lol my g/f was feeding a moth that got trapped in our bedroom for a few days and I came into the room one day to see one of our bettas eating him up!
It's actually good to have your fish eat things like that, mosquitos frequently lay eggs in my planted tank. My SA puffer LOVES to eat their larvae.

In the In addition to the regular feeding of crickets I feed all my fish, I also throw in any bugs or spiders I may find around the house.

thanks - i shall continue to let them enjoy the free home delivery then!

its v. funny watching them eat the moths, they get even more excited than they do for snails :)
