I tried to get a better pic of my blue african. I'm not sure if the blue one could be an azureus or just a type of peacock.

looks like some kind of hap to me, but I am a new world guy.....so my .02 might be worth much less than that.

Definanly not a mbuna, could be a peacock but im going to have to say its a hap also. I now more about mbuna then haps and peacocks. I know ive seen it somewhere though so i think it is pretty common.

hi...
IMO it's a male peacock (aulonacara)

I really don't think it is an electric blue hap because of the shape of its mouth and body. I don't think it has the body fullness of an electric blue hap. It also is entirely blue, no red on its fins. Lastly the white blaze doesn't extend down its entire head.
Ex: http://www.dickert.ca/Cichlids/fish/hapahli.htm
I would have to lean towards Copadichromis Azureus shown in: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/c_azureus.php I believe mine looks much similar to the Azureus pictured. It is completely blue and the white blaze on its dorsal fin just like my fish. I also am pretty sure mine is mature so he will probably stay completely blue except for that white blaze and I doubt he would develope that red color like the electric blue haps.
Other than that I can only think he could be a Peacock. I guess more opinions will be needed before we can determine what this fish is...
Thanks for all your help!

its definitely not a Scienochromis Fryeri(electric blue). Its looks more like an Aulonocara to me. The Azureus has a stripe that goes through his eye...from the pic it doesnt look like it has that. Also Copadichromis have 3 spots on their side, yours does not.

Maybe it's a peacock, but I'm still not completely convinced. Take a look at this Azureus:

Not all of them have three spots do they because this one doesn't.

I'll look for a stripe in the morning across the eye, maybe the pic didn't bring it out, or maybe its a peacock, either way its pretty...

i don't think its a peacock- its head and body dont quite seem narrow enough. also, do peacocks have a metalic sheen? i thoght only haps did.
