Yeasterday I was cleaning my tanks and descided to start the process of grooming my males for next years show and hopefully in the process getting the females to put on some size too since they will not be laying eggs(hopefull). I set the tank up, moved Jade(female Trimac) out, and put Edgar in. There was a pause as Edgar adjusted, then the two's eyes met......BAM! It was like one of those old wild west movies when both draw at the same time, because man did they charge at the same time. I went back to make sure the female's were doing ok, then went back just intime. They had knocked the divider about out of place and were trying to get at each other in the worst way. Luckily I always keep extra suction cups and reinforced it, but not without getting my hands tore up abit in the process. Man I need gloves, lol. That was last night, today I checked on them and was plesently suprised. Edgar's hump has gotten slightly larger and Onyx's colors are brighter. It just go's to show that rivalries bring out the best of everything. I also measured them and they both are now 8"(counting fins), they will definently be ready for next year. Both put away I would say about an ounce of pellets this mourning in two feedings. Guess their working up in apitite. I will take more pics tonight and posibly some vids. Day pics just aren't the best with the sun.

The bad part of my camera is the flash is so brigh it makes the dark pink on Onyx Look very pale and light, while on Edgar it makes him look very placid. I will hopefully have a good vid up tomarrow so all can see them better, keep your eyes open. B)

those are some nice fish! good pics too!

There is a way you can secure the egg grate better. Split a plastic siphon tube lengthwise into half and fit it on the egg grate edges to act as wedge.

If the Trimac and the Midas are of opposite sex, then, they will cross breed and Flowerhorn is in the making.

it think ANUBISSCOTT said he put the trimac and the midas males together in the 100g but i could be wrong.

Both Males as you can see so no babies(Thank God). Their mates are sharring a 55 standard and chasing around the school of synadontis back and forth. They both have 3 flowerpots on each side of the tank. Midas female on the right, trimac female on the left. And yes..........A 100g
