A camera really doesn't do this fish justice. He's the deepest purple I've ever seen!

I love that fish. We had hoped to add one to our 75 gallon. I believe they are reef safe. Is this true?

They are reef safe. The come from the same family as the Royal Gramma. They have many of the same mannerisms. He is not a very free swimming fish, he stays in the rock work most of the time.
Right now he's about 3 inches long and they grow to 4 or 5 inches.
They are a pit pricey though. Because they come from the deep water reef area, they have to be decompressed. This one cost me $48.99. They are semi-rare, I had to have mine ordered. You can get one online for about $25, but I wouldn't suggest it. They have to be decompressed and may not ship well.

Here's a couple of really good ones I snapped last night. He's finally adjusted to the tank and is actually occasionally swimming out in the water column with my clown fish.
