New setup with Filstar fx2 on 29g. No problems for 24h then gurgling noise correlating with small bubbles agitating in top of cannister. If restart all goes away only to return. Lubricated o-rings but still recurs and no obvious air leak. Doesn't make sense to me. Help. I am going away in a few days and uncomfortable with new setup. Aquar Pharm has not been responsive, altho I assume they will get back some time next week. Thanks.

From what you said, it seems like there's a leak. Check the hose connections. Did you shake the filter a little to help get air pockets out?

On start up of a canister, it's common to have some air bubble out. How long has it been left running?

I've restarted a few times, even filled with more water as well as shaken the cannister..all of this helps for a few hours and then gurgles again. I guess I do have a leak and will have to wait for the Aquar Pharm guys to respond. I suspect it is a slow leak, but it is there. Thanks.

Fishskin, check the basket lid on top of the top basket and make sure it's right side up. If it's upside down it will cause exactly what you describe.

I did speak to AP tech today who was quite helpful, although the preliminary conclusion is I do have a leak. He is sending me a new gasket...we shall see. I did do what has been suggested so far...all of which is a temporary fix, suggesting a leak. It is a little frustrating because the unit seems well made and designed.

I got the replacement gasket in less than a week and it did the trick. No more gurgling and everyone, including me, is happy. I was pleased with their response.
