I have a 125 gallon running with an aquaclear 500, penguin 330 and a power jet 403. I need more filtration since I have since added more fish. My water isn't too clear, what type of fluval should I get?
Thanks

If you have too many fish in there, additional filtration won't help in the long run. More frequent water changes may help in the short term, but the simple fact is that the bacteria bed needs time to catch up, and that takes time.

Obviously I agree with OG, do more frequent water changes. What kind of fish are in there right now? If you have like messy cichlids, I would go ahead and add an AC 300 or even a 500 as HOBs will give you better mechanical filtration than a canister.
BTW, how many fish did you add at once?

Sorry I took so long to respond. I would never have done this because I know it was very risky but I added 20 fish. There was a guy who was moving and offered them to me if I picked them up that day. I had no choice so I took them. I have since added bacteria bottle stuff, though I know the bio load increase is probably very tough on the tank. I haven't lost any fish though. So canisters don't do as well as HOB's? I didn't know that.

The bacteria in a bottle can make your water cloudy. I would do a 15% water change everyway and not add any more of that crapola. And yea, HOBs are slightly better for mechanical than canisters.

what type of fish did you add 20 of?

Peacocks and Mbuna.

Sorry, I used the wrong words when describing the water of my tank. It isn't really cloudy as it is full of brown dust. I don't know how to describe it, so maybe an comparsion will help. If you ever are directly in the light and shake a rug you see all the dust particles floating around. That is exactly like my fish tank.

It could be that you need finer media to block those small particles.
