I currently have a 50g tank and like so many other aquarium junkies I dream of a bigger tank.If you had a 50, what size would you buy next if money was no option?
Thanks

If money was no option, I would by the largest tank that could fit in my house...
Seriously though, moving from a 50 to a 150 would be cool...

I would probably do what Matt said, lol, or i would tear down all my walls and make one big fish tank as my wall, now that would be cool. It wouldnt matter what fish you put in it if the were in the same chemistry range because agreeasion wouldnt matter. Like you could keep a red devil with other small community fish lol.
In reality, i would want a tank at least 100 gallons. very big jump from a 20 gallon tnak.

I'd buy the Tennessee Aquarium.

Well, there need to be some limits on our speculation, otherwise we would all tell you to just buy the Pacific Ocean.
Seriously, the next standard-sized tank up from your 50 that represents a significant improvement in carrying capacity and viewability is the 90 gallon. 48"L x 18"W x 24"H.
The 125 is a good upgrade from there. 72"L x 18"W x 23"H.
Beyond that, start thinking about 180g tanks at 72" x 24" x 24", or 240G at 96" x 24" x 24".
Beyond a 125g tank I would definitely only be looking at acrylic. You might need to move it someday, and unless you have an army of 5-6 friends ready to help, the lighter tank will definitely have its advantages.

I would think more in terms of length rather volume.
From 4 ft tank (50G), I would buy a six footer 100-150 gallon. Then to an eight footer )180-300 G). :)

I went from a 55 to a 100, could not be happier with it either.

I second the length increase! It is so nice to watch fish swim longer distances rather than up and down or around in circles. I went from a 20H to a 75G.
If I can upgrade now, I will go for 250g tank. Then I will upgrade to indoor pond.

If money were no obstacle, I suppose I'd buy a beach...clear out the damned houses, and use the sand to make the glass for my large aquarium.

i wouldnt build just one tank...id build a proper aquarium with many many tanks of diffrent sizes so i can have lots of species tanks. i mean if money were no option...i dont think i would be happy with just one tank hehe
my big tank is 8x2x2 but if money and space would permit i'd love an 8x8x8.
i went to the steinhart aquarium today and saw alot of the same fish all of us keep in these huge bedroom sized tanks and it was amazing. the true potential our fish under the right conditions is awsome. i took a bunch of pictures while i drooled. i'll post the good ones when i get a chance.

I webnt from a 10 to a 55 to a 75... i got smokin' deals on all of them... i got the 75g for 150$ canadian, with under gravel filters, and another filter, the power head and stand with 2 heaters all included... it was partially used, but the stuff that was used i cleaned up and repainted the stand, and now it's mint....

Actually the tank size logic goes like this.
The best size is a lake. If buying that is out of limits. Then buy the longest tank you can afford money and space-wise. Last put in the minimum fish you would be happy to watch. :)
