Such inspiration! Such restraint required to achieve an aquascape of that caliber!! I'm always far too tempted to try one of every plant I've never tried before. Sooner or later, I'll calm down and my tank will be as beautiful as those.

I don't see any credit for the tanks or the photography given.

That just seems wrong to me.

some of those have got to be Amano's tanks, I think I recognize #13 as being his

It's ok, be sarcastic..... How was I to know? Never get to see your 'whole' tank..

LOL oh please, its a far cry from even most of the more mediocre samples on that site. And it's even worse these days. Typical pattern of a relatively new planted tank enthusiast, though - wanting to try their hand at every species they can get ahold of. There wasn't an ounce of sarcasm, I assure you.

In all seriousness, a huge component of a truly successful beautiful aquascape is restraint. Look at some of Amano's most striking displays - more often than not, he uses only 2-3 basic plant types.

I'm positive that #56 is Frode Roe's, which won best of show in the very first AGA contest. #54 looks a heckuva lot like Erik Leung's old set-up, which I believe won first place in the "large tank" category in the second AGA contest. Maybe not that particular photograph, though.

I do wonder if permission was granted from each of the tank owners...? Otherwise, what a great way to gather/show these beautiful aquascapes!

How long do you think it took to teach those fish to swim in that formation???
