Question?

I in the proccess of cycling my 45gal.(fishless). Im planing of doing a school of about 10-15 tiger barbs and one RTS. I want to add a cool looking centerpiece fish. I know that it will have to be fairly agressive. The tank has 2 caves, one at each end of the tank and 2 fake amazon sword plants spanning th back of the tank. i may eventually and 2 more behind the caves and make a smaller cave in the center area of the tank. Any ideas as to what i could add? I really like the look of paradise fish but dont know about them with the barbs cuz of the fin nipping.

You could add another fast swimming school to the tank. One school of barbs and one school of ???? instead of just one centerpiece fish.

Just a random thought.

Tiger barbs and RTS really limit choices and pretty much eliminate a "centerpiece". I had a 29G with 9 Tiger Barbs and a RBS and it was plenty active without anything else. :)

could do a school of danios, gold and normal zebra. i have 9 in my 55 but iam gettin more. about 20 i think.

I'm new. RTS is a Red Tail Shark? I have one in my 28ga tank. I love it. He's about 3years old now. About a year and half ago I had some barbs that nipped all his fins. I thought he'd be a goner.

Now he rules the tank with a few tetras.

Yep. Cool fish, but they will rule as they age. Welcome btw. :)

The barbs can be VERY nippy and IMO severely limit your choices like Newbie said:)

If you like the tiger barbs and are down with adding more schooling fish, you might even just get some green or albino tiger barbs.
