Hello all-
Havent had a tank in a few years (it was hard to remember my password!), but i took in one of my friends bettas that was doing poorly and started up a 10 gal. I have stopped all the fin rot and got his color back but recently he has gotten a swim bladder infection or something. There is a large swelling near his tail that seems to keep him bouyant. He is eating normally and doesnt seem too stressed but he definately is sick of being at the top of the tank.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
-Luke

From ultimatebettas.com

"Frozen pea preparation – place a small amount of dechlorinated water into microwaveable dish. Place a few peas (usually one pea is plenty for one betta) into the dish. Microwave on high power for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, cool, remove shell, chop. Feed very small pieces to betta. Usually 2 - 3 pieces is plenty. Avoid feeding other foods to betta for 2 – 3 days. This should get things moving pretty quickly"

What are your Water Parameters?

Everything seems fine- 78-79 degrees, no ammo or nitrite, 5 nitrate.

Tank stock includes 3 cherry barbs and 2 otos- all pretty small in size.
He still "wants" to eat like a pig. I have to take him out to feed the others.
I give him a half pea every 3-4 days. No real progress though.
