Ok, you got me... where's the punchline? javascript:smilie('')
javascript:smilie('')
I bit and followed the link... straight to the 'reguler' long flourecent bulbs... none of which are the 42W variety. I also checked the screw in page and found no 42 W bulbs there either.
Any help?
Thanks,
Bill C.

I just bought the WalMart (Lights of America) aquatic screw in CF, with a nice daylight spectrum, and it fits hoods with narrow reflectors. 10 watts, $4.85.
I found the screw-in 19 watt dayight bulb at Home Depot didn't fit this hood, though it did fit another hood I'm using that had no reflectors at all. No problem, I can use them around the house.

I ordered the 23w 5100K bulbs over a year ago...all three running strong over my 29g!!! 69watts for only 6.00/bulb (plus shipping).
These guys are great...service is outstanding...they keep you informed of your order very well by e-mail.
I am redesigning my hood and will be putting those three plus 2 of those 19watt-ers from Home Depot in there!!!
This will give me over 3.5 wpg for only $6-8/bulb! Do the math (counting the wiring, sockets, and reflector, this 110w system of 5 CF Screw Ins has cost me a little over 50.00...and all I have to do is spend an average of $7.00 to replace each bulb when it blows.
Thanks,
Steve

but they sell a twin cf (ballist (sp?) for $27 and bulbs are like $13 each just solder the wires to the bulbs.

I only pay 8.00/bulb...I don't need a ballast, as these bulbs have ballasts build in.
5 Screw In bulbs = 40.00 at home depot
5 tube bulbs with ballasts = 27/ballast @ 2 ballasts? + 5 bulbs @13.00 = 108.00

I am using 42W 5100K bulbs over my 40G planted breeder tank, the plants grow like crazy. They look good in my FW tank, clean white not yellow at all. I haven't seen that site before but the price is the same as I paid. I'd buy the 6500K when I need to replace them.

If you look at the bulbs description on that website, why do some of the bulbs labelled "Designer Phospors" and the others aren't? Is there a coating on it.. or is it a website typo?
