I am worried...He is in a 55 Gallon aquarium with my Albino Oscar, Ivory (don't worry, he is a good 6 inches...Ivory couldn't eat him if she tried...) One side, not front, is facing the window and he is swimming up, right, down, left, pause then all over again...is it because of the light? I am worried...he is eating well...sinking tablets and whatever mess Ivory spits out (She is VERY VERY messy) from her pellets...any suggestions???

It sounds okay...Ottos swim like that all the time, and I've known other algae eaters to do the same.

as long as he doesn't rub a spot raw he is fine, probably just working off his lunch :D

on another thought watch him, there is a species that is mixed in with the chinese algea eater(about 1/4 of them are this other) that gets agressive with maturity. those fish tend to attack other fish and leave round sucker marks on them.

Could be an attempt at attracting a mate. I have an Albino Catfish that does the same thing.
