Scarlett hermits are great at sifting the sand, diatom cleaning, and limited cyano cleansing. They excel at scavenging leftover bits of fish food, and are very docile towards other tank inhabitants.
Blue legged hermits are excellent at sand sifting, scavenging, and will kick but on green hair algae, should you ever develop a case of it. Corax and I are infested with it currently, and if it weren't for my blue hermits I'd be over run. Blues do have a nasty habit of going after your snails, however, and have been known to kill a snail just to check out the housing potential of it's shell.
Candy stripe cleaner shrimp are great. Mine cleans everything he can reach. He eats algae off the glass and LR, he cleans the fish, and he even tries to clean my hand when I put it in the tank. He also scavenges leftovers like a champ.
I also have a sea urchin and an emerald crab. The urchin is pretty cool to watch, but the emrald crab is butt ugly. They do damage to hair algae, though.
