So to be honest , when keeping aquariums you are never free of questions and problems :D

I really like neon tetras maybe for that wonderfull blue and red colour they have. I have a big 250 gallon Community tank,
with 6 Angelfish ( the size of 2 " each ) 4 Zebras , 2 Catfish and 2 clown loach.

I really wish to add about 20 neons to my tank, but many people say that neons are good diet for Angels.....

My angels are still a bit small like I sad before about 2" , so do you think if I put some Neon Tetras now do they do fine with Angels too ?

Thanks

The Angels might see them as food when you add them to the tank.

One time I had an angelfish with some neon tetras with no problems.. Even some people here I think had success with neon tetras and agelfish together.

Do you think will they be good together because my tank is big , and there is alot of room for them..... Just asking...( don't know )]
:D

just a suggestion but i think you should add a few more clown loaches. they are supposed to be much more intresting when there are alot of them.

Yeah demon_surfer I think like you. I will add more loaches soon.
I really would like to add a school of neons first :) ( if it's possible )

Depends on your Suggestions .

I would look at cardinals instead. As adults, they are larger than the angels, and the ones I have seen for sale have also been larger than neons. Lately, all the neons I've seen have been tiny--around the 1/2 inch mark--definitely angel food. Cardinals have similar coloration, but the red stripe extends all the way to the head, instead of stopping around the gills. Similar conditions, but less likely to become snacks, with an adult size closer to 2 inches. Once established, they are reportedly hardier than neons, and more disease resistant as well.

:D Yes I think OrionGirl is right. I can put a school of Cardinals instead. But I never saw Cardinals the size of 2", the ones I 've seen at the LFS last time were 1/2" like noeons. Should they eat them if they are that size ?

I keep cardinals and neons in separate angelfish tanks, and I really haven't seen any greater problems with the neons getting eaten.

Unless you can get Florida farm-raised neons (which tend to be pretty hardy and healthy), you're probably better off with cardinals. My experience is they tend to be healthier than most garden-variety neons.

Just be sensible - if they look like they're small enoguh to be eaten , it might happen. I keep cardinals and big angels together and it's not something I worry about.
Try to shop around and get bigger tetras than 1/2 inch - they're likely very fragile at that size as they may only be 8 or 10 weeks old. They also look less like fluorescent live food
