Not sure if this is a typical thing, but I have noticed that there is a slimy, snotty scum that has formed around my CO2 output tube. It's not hindering my CO2 flow, I was just wondering what it might be. I have a hagen CO2 setup and the tank is about 2 weeks old.

I don't know what it is, but it is normal. Just gently (so that it doesn't go everywhere) pull it off.

Just a residue from the Yeast/Sugar. Not harmful....just ugly.

If it really bothers you, you can make a bubble counter... DIY->Bubble Counter->Tank and this gets rid of that stuff... just change the bubble counter water every month or so.

I get that sludge too. Is this the kind of algae that tank cleaners love? Would it be OK to scrape it off and leave it in the tank for them?

its not harmful for the tank or fish.
