i have inherited an unwanted crab that has cime in on my LR.I have been told it is called a teddy bear crab and that i should get it out as it will kill my snails.I have seen it killing 1 snail so far but it seems impossible to get it out.My tank is 6ft long with 70kg LR.Does anyone have any ideas for catching it other than dismantling my reef??

Try a capture box, baited with something the crab will have a hard time resisting. Most stores have QT boxes for capturing sick fish. This will work well. Bait it with some shrimp or something, and wait for him to take the bait. Then just remove him and return him to your LFS. Try to get some store credit for him! ;) I returned a porcelin crab this way and got $5 credit.

You might also try a jar with a little fish or clam stuck into the floor of the tank. They get in, but can't climb up the sides to get out.
I battled hairy crabs for months, and most of my success came with grabbing them by hand when they ventured too far, or spearing them with a sharpened bicycle spoke. Pulled put about 12-13 by the time I was done.
