does anyone know about astotilapia nubilus, they are maybe the most beautiful cichlid i've ever seen, and i think im gonna get just 1 for my 129 mix lake african tank. are they really aggressive? what else can anyone tell me about them?
thanks
The only thing I know is they are from Lake Victoria.

If the fish is not in breeding mode or the dominant fish in the tank it will not show the colors you see in pictures. Most if not all pics on the net show a dominant male in a breeding tank. So don't be dissapointed if you have a drab colored fish in your tank.

i saw one in the LFS alittle too large for the size of my fish at the moment, they are mostly juveniles, it had better colors than most i see online, but it was in a 15 - 20 gal with 3 other mbuna and was chasing them the whole time, so it may be because it was the dominant male. it was only about 2 inches long.
will they be aggressive to other fish if i put a male and 2 females in the tank? would he be too aggressive or would the others be able to take it, mostly tanganyikans, and 3 A. Stuartgranti Maleri "chipoka"
thanks
