My convicts have been overbreeding, and I have no more room for the adults also. When I see a baby convict die from too much bullying. I try removing it, but they end up dying from the stress. I was wondering when some dies in the tank, should I leave the remains in the tank, cause some of my other convicts feast on this. Or should I remove it immediately?

Also I've been using various kinds of food, but I still dont' see the vibrant colors as some of you guys have. IS there any live food I can feed them. I'm culturing mealworms right now, if that is okay with them.

How about placing some kind of nocturnal predator/scavenger in the tank if you have room? That way you con population won't get huge and the one's that die will get eaten? That is if you have room. Maybe a baby channel cat or something with an appetite for living and dead things. Of course the channel cat is going to get large so you'll need lots of room, and from my experiences they do this pretty quickly. But they'll eat anything. You'd definately need something that can withstand the abuse a pair of mating cons are going to dish out upon it. I hear those "clawed frogs" also have voracious appetites. Maybe that's also an idea.

If you don't want something to do it for ya however you could try attaching a length of larger tubing to some sort of plastic rod and syphon them out.

How big are the cons when they die and how many of them are there? How big's the tank?

Buy an Oscar and use him as a garbage can for your convicts!

(Any suggestion which involves getting a new and large tank is a good suggestion)
