20 gallon tank

Is the tank cycled? What type of filter do you have? Is it tropical or cool water? Whats your ph and hardness? If it is cool water and the ph is anywhere between 6 and 8, white cloud mountain minnows are good. If its tropical and the ph is anywhere between 6 and 8 you could try zebra danios, leopard danios, cherry barbs, black skirt tetras, etc etc etc.

It is tropical with a ph of 7. it is cycled and has a power filter on the back. what are white cloud mountain minnows? Thanks.

Do you want a bunch of fish (small ones) or a few bigger fish? And when you say the tank is cycled do you just mean that you put water in and let it settle or you built up a sufficient level of good bacteria and are feeding that level right now.

Oh and white cloud minnows are just a beautiful cold water fish from Northern China with bronze bodies and red fins. Very peaceful and hardy. In the pet stores they are generally tiny and don't look like too much but they grow up quickly and are sure fun to watch in large groups.

TKOS is right... I have 13 of them in my 30 gallon.

Quite fun to watch...

(it's really pitiful but I can't even get them to breed.. or maybe eggs are eaten too quickly?)

the tank has been running for a long time and has had other fish in it. Big or small groups I think which evr way would be most apealing.

Dont forget about the whitish variety, they are also quite common I think. I have about 16 - 18 of them.

I love my setup of white cloud minnows and cory catfish. A good easy to keep and fun to watch group. In a 20 gallon probably 10 white clouds and 5-6 cory catfish would be nice.
