My clown fish has recently started using his tail to fan out a hole in the sand - looks like what a salmon does when its spawning. Has anyone ever noticed this behavior before. He is the only clown fish in the tank and he has been in there for over a year and half - weird!

Both my Maroon GS clowns do the same thing. The male does this around the pink paly's he is hosting and also fills his day by picking up larger pieces of the sand substrate and carries them across the tank and drops them on a Purple Monti or one of the Maxima Clams for fun, I guess?

I haven't been to or even heard of echo reef, but will be in Holland tomorrow for a soccer tournament (Sat), so maybe I will check it out. Rochester's reef just moved to Washington street with a new bigger store - I have built most of my reef out of that store. They are not cheap, but I don't care.

Do you know of any local reef clubs?

Eco Reef (Zeeland) is closed Sat. and Mon. because of the holiday. Normal hrs. are Mon. Tues and Fri. 3-8. Sat. 12-5. Eco Reef also has a website if you want to check them out.
You should google Michigan Reefers. That will show you the local club in the area. There is also a frag swap Sept. 20th in Plainwell.
