The Betta Name Game

Sorry, this **** comes up a lot i know, but i cant think aof a satisfying name for my new betta. He's blue, a fiesty little feller. any suggestion/ideas would be great...

or theophrastus! or aristarchus! aristotle! lucretious! i've been reading way too much crap on greco-roman science and such.

so you should probably just go with octopus the betta.

ok, my suggestions suck...but when i get a chameleon i am definitely naming him archimedes.

Hmmm I just got a betta and was thinking of getting him a gal.

Needs a name first I would agree.

I tend to go for the simple names

like "simple" hmmm I just thought that would sound ok...I don't actually have a betta named simple...feel free to steal the lame name, if you don't think its lame.

he is quite the specimen, AH HA! I will call him Fonzi! short for Fonzirella from a show called happy days!

do you like names that are describing or an abstract or perhaps a long awe inspiring name? Just flick through the scolors or hero's of history and you most likely will find one

other names eh...

you could name him mr. betta if you're really lame like me. i have a blue gourami named bluey and a gold one named goldie. and spiny eels named eely and eely #2. and a pleco named uncle plecky. the most inventive fish names i've come up with are pokey and whaley for my fattest catfish.

for a female betta, betty is the surefire hit!

I'm gonna show my age (and then some) here....... There once was a show called "the smurfs". Little blue guys (and a girl)..... One of them was called "Hefty" smurf. He was kind of a rough, outdoorsy athletic type.

There's also "Levi" for Levis jeans (also blue)......

Also "Nova" is a neat name......

We have a blue and red crowntail betta that my 3 1/2 year old daughter named "Blue Star".

What about calling him Red? As a blue fish, he might find that amusing. ;)
