Good idea but they are very cheaply made and make a mess...

1. I need to add a 15 foot extension and would like it to not leak.

2. When you turn the valve on or off to stop the flow, you have about 2 seconds before there is to much pressure and water starts praying over everything..

3. The sink attachment is a pain in the *** to put on and take off, is there a snap on and off fitting that will work for normal sink use and for Python use to make connecting faster and easier?

4. Yeah the cheap water bed attachment to direct the flow of water is pretty cheap, isn't there a better way to make this stronger and more easy?

I need to start using this for my 29 gallon tank because I have plants, Pouring water from buckets is annoying and the water going into the tank pulls up some of my plants... Holding up a 5 gallon bucket and very... slowly... pouring.... water.... in.... gets heavy.

1. Extensions for python are available. Pythons also come in different sizes.

2. Don't know if this'll work for you, but I never turn the valve off anymore. I hold the vac end in my hand when I turn the water on and then walk it over to the tank. It gives me about 5 or 6 seconds before the water starts coming out. If your tanks are similarly close to the faucet, this should work for you also. Just make sure the path from the sink to the tank is clear before you turn the water on. Or just secure the vac end in the tank somehow and then turn the water on.

3. Yes. I think this is what you want. Scroll down to the "brass snap connector".

I did see somewhere a DIY Python somewhere. Here it is. I'm sure there are others. Try a google search for 'diy python'.

2. Or - I put a washcloth or paper towel over the faucet where the python is connected. Keeps it from spraying all over. Also, I just don't have the valve shut for very long at all to minimize the spraying.

for me i dont use the python to take water out but when i use it to put water back in i watch it and then go to my tap when the tanks just about full an shut it off (or i get my little helpers to man the taps )

i also make sure to lift up the python an feel the water cause i have had where the hot water suddenly takes over thankfully i noticed otherwise it would have been fish soup

i dont turn the shut off valve as i have had the python burst off the tap what a mess

i consider the whole carryin the bucket of dirty water to the toilet to be my time at the gym :P

I bought some clear tubing from home depot to make an extension. I use a brass coupler which I would normally frown upon but the contact area and contact time with the water is, at worst, minimal.

The thickness of the tube wall (outer diameter) made it a little hard to connect on the sink side but after a string of swears as long as a gigas I got it jammed in there.

After experiencing those kinds of leaks at the faucet connector due to pressure, that CAN get strong enough to spray water across the room, I TOO place a washcloth or a paper towel over the connection.

Don't always have a leak there, but when I do, it's BEST to be prepared for it.

for filling up my tanks I just have 3x 1 gallon jugs of conditioned water and I use an airline tube to siphon them into the tank (I put one on a stand that is higher than the tank, and just pour the others into it when it gets low.
This seems to help the water adjust to room temp (Better for the fish) and removes any problems from having to pour into a tank.

i never used the on and off part so i just bought a hose and added that part.

like the others said but you could always not use it. if your filling the tank you should know when its close to being done just walk over and turn it off.

do you have a hose? thats what i use. even when i used the sick it really wasnt that hard.
