Hrmmm 4 algae eaters is overkill... 2 bristlenose plecos might be better...or even a single one. Severums are relatively peaceful...and less likely to eat other fish like an oscar would. I don't know if I'd want to keep 3 seperate pairs of cichlids in a 55gal tank... if you had all females and lots of filtration, it could work... breeding cichlids are a whole different ballgame for aggression.

1 algae eater is enough to keep that guy busy.
You can get couple loaches. And a pleco to help cleaning the bottom of the tank (food debris).

i would say 2 severums and 2 blue acaras or 2 blue acaras and 2 firemouths. 6 total cichlids could get hairy and messy without excellent filtration. and probably a bristlenose but no loaches. the acaras get about 8" but they grow slow and the FM get about 6 max and the sevs about 8.

Loach does help cleaning food debris. Mine are great with that.
Also, not all Pleco are great bottom feeders. Many plecos prefer driftwood as their diet. Research a bit on plecos before you decide on buying one. Go to www.planetcatfish.com
Agree with Tightdog. Your tank will eventually be too small for all your fish. I'm sure you do have planned on getting them bigger tanks in the future.

are these breeding pairs or just 2 fish? if it is just two fish, i would put i green severum, gold severum, 1 acura, and 1 fm. just me though, i like variety...

what do you guyz think about the bottom feeders because in my tank i want sum to clean the glass but also vlean to bootom floor and algae and stuff like that.
As mentioned...4 algae eaters will be too much.
Try one Chinese Algae Eater, plecos or loaches.

My CAE still loves algae even though he has reached his 5" mark.
