Cleaning an eheim CO2 diffuser

I have an eheim CO2 diffuser and the white disc has some algae growing on it and it won’t come off by scrubbing. Is there something that I can soak it in to remove the algae? Thanks.

I think a 1 part bleach 20 parts water solution would do the trick.
