I have a 5.5 gallon planted tank set up that is totaly set up. I have three neon tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, and a gold nugget pleco. The plants that i have are a bunch of Egeria densa , one small amazon and a bannana plant that has already sprouted 2 leaves!! I was looking to add more but wanted to get some other view points to see what would be the best for my small tank.

You could get some petite nana, which is a smaller version of the anubias nana. They are available at www.aquabotanic.com.

What is your lighting like? If you have enough light, I like Riccia attached to rocks, Glossostigma, and my lobelia seems to stay pretty small. If you want to do regular pruning/replanting I think a lot of the smaller leaf stem plants look nice in small spaces, like Rotala's, especially indica. Rotala Indica seems to grow in a wide variety of conditions, and it gets a nice pink color under decent light. What type of Amazon do you have? The only Sword I have had that would stay small enough to not grow out the top of a 5.5g is a melon sword, which I don't know if thats technically an "Amazon" sword or not. I hope this helps.

A few small stalks of Bacopa caroliniana or Sunset Hyrgo might do well.
