is that carbon is only to making the water clear, what else the carbon can do to the tank, also what is the different between
reg. carbon and activated cabon, can you tell by watching it.
I purchase some carbon from oversea, while i am on holiday.
the carbon are very different than the one i purchase in canada
the one selling here look a small ting rock and uneven side and shape, the one i purchase are long skinny and all the sharp are the same they look like an sideway I on the keyboard.

Carbon removes pollutants, nitrates, hormones, etc. from the water, which is why it makes it clearer. There is a difference between activited carbon and standard carbon, but I've found that the difference isn't enough to justify the higher price. I'm not sure about size, but I doubt that matter. Some of the polished kinds however, don't release the dust that you get when the carbon isn't shaped like anything, just tiny pebbles.
