swordtail disease

I have a female swordtail and It's scales stick out and
patches of It's skin are slightly discolered. When I looked at It it looked dead. Then it started trying to swim into the grvel or somthing. It was swimming downward. It is acting funny. Does anyone know what disase it has or what can heal it? I put some ick medicine in. Thanks.
 
Doesn't sound like ick at all, so that's a bit of a waste. It sounds like dropsy or swim bladder mixed with something else.. possibly a parasite. Go to your library and look at books with pictures of fish diseases.
