Hellow all:
I have (I think anyway - not exactly sure on the sexes):
2 F Yellow Labs
1 M Yellow Lab
1 M Blue Zebra
2 F Blue Zebras
5 SAE
30G Moderate planted tank (with C02 injection).
They all live in harmony with no apparent problems (scales and fins are all good and in tact) for the past 8 months. Mainly due to the fact that they are docile and the have AMPLE hidding territory in the gravel (under rocks, pvc tubes and under plants) and above the gravel (again under rocks, fake plastic things and pvc tubing).
My H20 levels are great:
0 Ammonia
0 nitrate
.15 Nitrite
7.8PH
10KH
13GH
My question(s) is:
I had to remove one of my females to a 10G with a few community fish that are REALLY small (cardinal tetras). THe H20 levels are almost exactly the same (the ph = 7.9 to 8.0 on the 10G). IS THIS NOT GOOD TO DO? She looks beat up because the lab male is on a mating frenzy - he is now trying to mate with the other lab female doing all the dances and shaking and circuling and so forth!!
I thought I have read to remove them from the tank to avoid them dropping the eggs? Am I mistaking?
Also, there is another problem - I am moving in 1.5 months (only 7 miles away (10 mnutes max)- what am I to do with the babies (granted they survive the birthing)? What is the best way to transport them?
Thanks for all the help!!!
