Do you think I could keep some Julidochromis transcriptus in my 58-gallon shell dweller tank (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=2638042&uid=1382184) with Lamprologus ocellatus "Gold"? To see this tank please go

BTW do you think I could keep Neolamprologus multifasciatus with Lamprologus ocellatus "Gold"?

just remeber that shell dwellers are much smaller than other africans and will likely get beat up bad by one that gets territorial.
Ocellatus are pretty aggressive and the multis are quite a bit smaller while they are mighty for their size. I don't think so. Also it is not a good idea to keep 2 different shellies in the same tank because there will be territory disputes over the shells.
J. transcriptus will be fine in a tank with ocellatus.

Like Deb2 said it should be ok to have some Julidochromis transcriptus in the tank. They'll tend to stick to the rockwork you have there, and the shellies will stay wherever the shells are, for the most part.
Have fun Ocellatus are a great fish :)

Are there any two different species of shellies that I could mix? Or can you only keep one species of them in a tank? Thanks.
I have never tried it but it is recommended by many knowlegable people to not mix any shellies.
