I have three spots of ich in my goldfish tank :( but it is being dealt with. Musta been the new plants.
But as I was changing water today I very nearly emptied my waste water from that tank with a hobby pump that I use everywhere- into tanks, out of garbage cans into the tub, etc.
I caught myself in time, but it brought to mind the question..
I now have a rubbermaid garbage can and one siphon hose that are wet with "ich water". Should I bleach these two items? Of course I'll rinse rinse rinse and heavily dechlor after, but will chlorine kill any residual ich monsters?
Would a thorough (very thorough) drying accomplish the same thing?
Is there anything (formalin, malachite green) that would be better to rinse/treat these items with?
How about my hands? How should I proceed if I need to be in the other tank later today?
