I was looking to get some testing kits so I can keep an eye on how well my tanks are doing but was wondering if one testing kit was better than another? I'm also looking for low price too. Im trying to Maintaining fish on a college school budget. I have one planted tank so I think i should prob get an iron test too?
I was thinking of purchasing Red Sea testing mini labs?
Are they any good?

I like the Dr. Wellfish testing kits. Take a sample of the water - drop in some chemicals - the water turns a color - and you match the color with a chart. It's pretty simple and hard to misread.

Can't go wrong with good ol' phenophthalein and bromothymol blue ;). I would buy the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals test kit, since I have experience with it, the tests are easy to do and interpret, and the reagents have a long life.
