has anyone kept a saddled filefish(paraluteres prionurus)?
if so can you tell me if they are reef safe as i would like to try one in my reef tank??

The only info I found was on the orange spotted filefish and the Red Sea filefish. They are both listed in Tullock's book as fish with special dietary needs. Perhaps someone else can speak to the type you are asking about.
From what I understand, most file fish are not considered reef safe... the Saddled is quoted as "Less destrctive than some of the larger file fish, it is risky to add to a tank with sessile inverts with the exception of potent anemones".
Personally from the sounds of that I wouldn't consider it.
