You don't need test kits, I haven't tested my waters in ages.
All you need is
KNO3 (nitrates + potassium)
KH2PO4 (phosphates)
CSM+B (micro nutrients)
A measuring device
Depending on your light level, add these 1-4 times a week, with a 50% water change at the end of the week so nothing becomes too concentrated.
