How do you tell when your Cichlids are stressed?

Not eating, color starts to fade. Stays in one spot. All the unusual stuff that you never see your fish do. But also it can be signs of dieases

Also, with mbuna, a sure sign of stress (usually from being picked on) is when the fish hides near the top of the tank, behind a filter intake, etc. Not a good thing to see... these fish almost always hang out near the bottom of the tank.
