Dry trace elements

I just ordered from http://www.ecogrow.com./main.html
they have everything you could need. they even have pmdd premixed one pound for 9.99, It's not on their website but if you email or call them they will sell it ito you.

Tempest thanks for that link looks like Plantguild is right in my own backyard. (and to think I been ordering ferts from across the country) LOL.

www.litemanu.com also
They everything, from the traces to the PO4.

Some of the traces are lacking Boron and few other traces that are needed( a few of which questionably but it does not hurt to add just in case) in minuet amounts.
You can buy Boron and add it also but I just add some Seachem Flourish every 3rd time I dose the traces. Seems to work well.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Thanks for all the replies.

Tom:
I went to the page you posted and could only find liquid trace elements. What products do you use from that site?

Tempest:
Are you using the Miller Trace mix or are you just buying the premixed PMDD?
There was no chemical analysis for the Miller trace on his site. Do you have a chemical breakdown of that product?
I was thinking of buying the trace mix and the KNO3 , K2SO4 seperatly. It seems to be more economical that way. Also, I can experiment with dosing that way.

Darren:
Are you using the recipe that was listed for PMDD on that site?

I have a 180 gal tank that I tried dry traces in. I used Plantex CSM, and added Roach killer (1 to 12 ratio) for boron. It kept my plants alive, but my water started clouding up, and some plants just did not fare well - old growth would turn brown along with old stems. I used it in conjunction with KNO3, K2SO4, Epson Salt and Mono Potassium Sulfate. I even have a UV sterilizer hung on that tank, and whether it was on or off, the cloudiness wouldn’t go away OR get worse.
In the past few weeks I’ve gone back to using Flourish Traces and regular Flourish supplement, along with a dry Iron Chelate, and all seems better now. I still have some old growth turning brown, but not nearly as bad as with the dry taces.
Because dosing a 180 gal tank gets a little pricey, eventually I’ll have to experiment with it again. It seems that something is missing. When you read the Flourish ingredients, there are ten or so things in it that you don’t have in dry traces. Tom Barr would be one of the few people I know who might have an idea what these extra elements in Flourish are for.
I probably haven’t helped much, but this has been my experience.

Shift-- I use the Flourish line for the micros. Email PlantGuild to get an ingredient list. I get the macro chemicals from them except for the phosphate. I got a lifetime supply of phosphate from Tom Barr. :D

I use a combo of Flourish, Flourish Trace, and Flourish Iron. I got the trace by accident so I'm using it up every third time I dose. The Flourish itself seems to have more in it so I won't order the trace again. My largest tank is 55 gallons and ordering from Big Als makes it relatively inexpensive.

I get CSM+B+Fe dry from Greg Watson Ferts. www.gregwatson.com can't beat the price or the quality!
