At one end of my 55gallon tank, I have a filter "Tetratec" which filters 300 gallons per hour. In the center of tank, I have a submersible heater, the temp of the tank is 82 degrees. At the other end of the tank, I have an air pump set on medium for now. I have some ornaments in the tank to provide "hiding" spots and some plastic and silk plants. Is there anything else I need? I plan on keeping about 5 angelfish. I purchased some Aquasafe to treat the tap water with. When I first filled the tank, I added it in. When I do water changes, am I supposed to pour the Aquasafe into the new water before I put it in the tank, or after? Also, I recently noticed a very small scratch on the inside of my aquarium. It's about a half inch long. No leaks, but should I be really concerned about this?

Some people will say that you don't have enough filtration, but I think it is fine for the load of fish you are going to have.

Regarding water changes, I would just put the Aquasafe in as you put in the new water, or immediately afterward.

The scratch....don't worry about it.

The only question I would have is about cycling the tank. Do you know about cycling? I would recommend doing a fishless cycle, that way your angels have a long and happy life. Check the sticky post at the top of this forum about fishless cycling.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty well informed about cycling. I'm still waiting patiently for my cycle to finish!
